Green with envy

It's evolutionary, my dear Watson.

I'm often surprised when someone comes into my store and says "Wow, you've really changed your look." Exactly the point! I started out years ago as an eclectic gift store with children's items, candles, dishware, linens, small furniture pieces...you get the picture. But like any creative soul, my need to expand my horizons coupled with successful design engagements spurred me on to expand my lines, increase the size of my offerings and provide consultative services that essentially are limitless in scope. We've helped so many satisfied clients over the years with their homes - let us help you evolve your house into the home of your dreams, too.

Edit, edit, edit

Editing in writing is a must. So, too, can be said for home decor. Too often, I walk into a house that is so chock full of things that it's hard to understand the room's purpose. It's wonderful to surround yourself with things of importance but use your accessories sparingly. Like spices on a well prepared meal, a little goes a long way. And, in order to create drama and impact, remember that something large and oversized is often better than three or five small items. Even in a smaller room, size and scale are vital to turning a room that is nice into one that is smashing. You can always put things away and reintroduce them into a room at a time when your room is looking stale to you.

Color of the decade?

How about color of the month? Home decor, like fashion, seems to be on a quarterly cycle. Last season's colors hardly seem to be around long enough to become passé are just that.
